Founder / Owner / PartnerMeet Greg, the brains behind Slate Investments.
In 2013, he purchased a one-bedroom condo in the history Montgomery Ward Building, remodeled it solo, and rented it to a delighted tenant who stayed for four years.
His next move? A two-bedroom townhouse just a few blocks away. Staying true to form, he handled the design and renovations himself. Unfazed by the challenges, Greg worked a typical 9-5 and spent his nights and weekends improving his home. He slept on a mattress in the middle of the floor, waking up most days covered in dust.
That’s when Greg’s passion for Real Estate became a lucrative side hustle.
In the following years, he lead a townhouse flip and invested in seven multifamily buildings creating a well rounded portfolio.
In 2021, Greg decided to commit to his business full-time. He grew his team and started a Property Management division implementing state of the art technology dedicated to enhancing the renter experience.
As Slate grows, Greg stays committed to preserving the timeless beauty of Chicago architecture, ensuring each building endures what the Windy City throws at it for the next 125 years.

Partner - Property ManagementIn late 2020, Giovanna joined Slate as a consultant, providing crucial support with resident communication and Lease fulfillment during the peak of the pandemic.
She soon realized that Greg’s Property Management approach was not compatible with his plans to scale. All tenants had direct access to his personal cell phone number and they did not hesitate to use it…
That’s when she stepped in to manage the division, freeing up Greg’s time for business development.
Giovanna’s industry experience paved the way for new type of growth. In 2021, she earned her Illinois Managing Brokers License allowing the team to list, tour, and lease properties on their own. She implemented a property management software to streamline processes and enhance efficiency among stakeholders, staff, and residents. This allowed the team to venture into new contracts, creating additional revenue streams.
